okay mommas how do you/did you/would you discipline your 16 month old?
only thing that he seems to understand is a "powpow" and i hate having to do that everytime. i tell him no in stern voice and he just grins like im not gonna get in trouble. and because we live in such a small house i really have no where to put him for "timeout".
as for me giving him a powpow its not excessive it not too hard it never leaves a mark or anything like that just enough for him to understand.
i do also tell him "lucas dont do _____ because youll get a booboo or an ouchy and it will hurt you." i explain to him and its almost like i feel like hes just gotta do whatever and get hurt for him to understand..which the only thing i really cant get him to stop doing is playing on the couch...we have a sectional he thinks is something he can run and jump on and he has fallen in the past which scares me because we have a table and he also has toys in here too.
as for his dad disciplining...well thats even more of a joke...so thats no help..
i understand. dont give him treats. n the time our chair or x sounds like a good idea. thats all u can do really. my dad said i was doing that before actually walking well. i was around 8 months n throwing myself around. n they thought i would get really hurt. they said i was crazy. n continued like dat. they couldnt stop me lol. i just had to grow out of it. i hope thats not gonna be ur son. i would be having heart issues
@lorraine2014, he tries...but my son thinks its a joke.. his dad works A LOT 12+ hrs rotating shifts so when hes home he is the fun person and im like you cant let him run on the couch and throw himself on pillows because thats how he falls and you get mad he bumps his head.
u just said the problem at the end. daddy wont discipline. if he doesnt jump in n do sumtin then thats why he thinks he can get away with it. and also just continue punishing. i have a tiny house. i find w.e corner i can and leave them in da corner.
@lorraine2014, he does it on our bed, and om the couch overall hes pretty well behaved
