look her over good. make sure she is okay. if she cries that something hurts, being her to get checked. let them show up. explain what happened. put distance between you and your mother and she will learn to step back. my mother and i have NEVER been close. and when I told her she couldn't be in the delivery room, she called cps when my child was 1 day old. let's just say they laughed in her face, and it wasn't the last call, but after 3 calls from her, they realised it was out of anger and pressed harassment charges against her

I would take the baby in myself to make sure there's nothing that happened that you can't see.

It was an accident. If she does all they can do is go ask questions. Just tell them what happened and don't get super offended when they keep asking you and telling you that it's okay to tell the truth. Just continue to tell the truth and you should be okay. Is it the first time they may be called?
