four weeks pp. had stitches due to a second degree tear. is it normal for them to come out?

yup.. I guess it really all depends on where the stitching is

they said it was the ones that dissolves but I just had a thread come out 😯

usually they give you the kind that dissolves but I could have sworn I saw a piece of the thread from mine around 3 weeks pp for me. it was bizarre..wasn't expecting to see it
