I've been exclusively breastfeeding, and for the first week or so everything has gone great. I was actually producing enough milk for her to eat and pump afterwards to store.
now, it comes time to eat and I'm not even remotely full. so she doesn't eat enough..
she is 2 weeks old, and tonight we tried giving her some of the milk we had stored in a bottle. she did really well with it, and she seemed to actually get enough to eat for the first time in at least a week.
looks like we might be switching to a bottle soon
Some BF babies only poop once a week, so I think that's fine. Keep breastfeeding (if you want to), and try power pumping
@babes101116, she's peeing decent some days, but not always. And she doesn't usually poop more than once a day
The key to milk production is nursing frequently. In the beginning she will basically live on your boobs but it's helping your milk come in more. Keep her latched on and nursing as often as she wants, stay hydrated, and make sure you're taking in enough calories. If you're worried about supply you can nurse her and then pump right after.
@kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom, she is always fussy and acts like she doesn't eat enough when she is feeding a good amount of times during the day, she just isn't getting anything out of it. my milk supply keeps getting lower instead of higher
