Can someone tell me the difference between a midwife and obgyn?
@babynumber2ontheway, I have a midwife and I wish I would have known the difference because they want you to stay pregnant too long lmao
That's how it is in the office I go to as well! It's like a team of midwives
@babymaverick, right!? Ok I feel better knowing I'm not the only one thinking that was wrong of her lol I only have to see her cuz we have to rotate dr's in my office to get used to each one. I'm sorry you're stuck with your midwife 😕
@babymaverick, this chick was cocky and I do not like that. She is training a NP to work more in an office atmosphere, and was teaching her how to measure the belly. The NP didn't go low enough down my belly to get a correct measurement and said to her "don't be scared, they'll tell you if you touch their clit" .... Like really??? Super uncomfortable. Then talked about her son smoking weed. 🙄
If she told you that, I'd look for a new one.
Girl, if I wasn't so late in my pregnancy, I'd switch back to an OB myself. My midwife never seems sure of herself and she definitely doesn't seem like she knows what she's doing.
@pregoprincess, @babymaverick I had one today, she was verrryyyy unprofessional and told me I can take highly addictive opioids after a root canal, and I am not comfortable with that.
My midwife this time is way better and nicer then any obgyn I have ever gone to. From my experience a midwife seems to have more time for you, and cares about how you feel more lol
They're less qualified in case of emergencies.
I have a midwife. I hate it! I switched from an OB to a midwife. Worst decision.
Obgyn might be a little stiffer and more serious than a midwife though. But it depends.
A midwife is not a doctor, they are a nurse. They can do pretty much anything that a doctor can do except perform surgeries. They also don't usually work with high risk moms. They're usually a little more personable and warm fuzzy~ obgyn is a doctor that specializes in obstetrics and gynecology. They work with high risk patients and they can perform c-sections. They can do it all!
@queen_d, bahahaha! I can see that 😂
