Does anyone eat lunch meat during pregnancy? I know its kind of a stupid question but it says we are not supposed to eat…

I ate it my first pregnancy all the time, never warm. I almost lived off it for breakfast and lunch the first time around. This pregnancy I can't eat anything without being nauseous. But my little one turned out fine.

Just don't eat it. Why risk it? Yes it's 1 in a million or so but why? Listeria scare is an actual worry it's not like it's a dumb thing to worry like "can I be on my phone near a belly because it might disturb the babies development" (I do think there is still an article about that though )

You can eat lunch meat and be totally fine. The problem isn't the lunch meat itself. There would only be a problem if the lunch meat was contaminated with listeria, but most likely it won't be. I haven't eaten any tho just cause I worry about everything. I have, however, eaten bean sprouts and drank raw juice without knowing that has a small risk of listeria and we're all ok over here'

The risk is with listeria, but it's rare to get. Really there's a risk with anything we eat 😒

@mell_babie12, I didn't but I also wasn't craving it. The majority of listeria & other food illnesses are mostly coming from fresh/frozen fruits& veggies. At this point, I would be more hesitant to have a smoothie from tropical smoothies or a salad from anywhere.

it's not that you aren't supposed to. it's that if you do you are supposed to warm it up first. I forget and just eat it normally.

Lunch meat was actually the one thing I religiously stayed away from. Deli stuff harbors lots of bacteria and I didn't want to chance it while pregnant.

I didn't eat it in my first or second trimester. But I've eaten it in my third, and everything is fine

Yeah I do lol, I got over the fear of it and now it's nice every once in a while.

I eat it cold I just make sure I go to the deli and get it freshly cut and eat it off before the week ends so I buy a small amount of it. if I let it sit in the refrigerator to long I'll second guess it and throw it away to make sure I don't harm my little one if it started to go bad

I never had mine warmed either. And I also never got sick. I loved subway while I was pregnant!

Oh my whole last two pregnancies never got sick once. But everyone's different. I do know it's supposed to be warmed tho!
