How does anyone get anything done or be able to go anywhere by themselves with a baby? 😩
My baby doesn't sleep much throughout the day unless it's on me then he wakes when I move him! I can't shower, eat, even make a drink because I put him down and he just kicks off. All I wanna be able to do is get myself ready and his stuff ready to actually leave the house but it seems soooo impossible unless I leave him crying whilst I do it all ☹️

the hospital gave me one day she was born for premature babies to help her learn how to suck and she goes to sleep with it like settles herself then spits it out before drifts off ill have a look if theres a name and that on it when she comes back from special care as got her last set of antibiotics and its in her cot thing. @abbylouise x

@tg123456789, @homely.mummy.no2 he doesn't take a dummy! I've tried so many different ones and he spits them out and then starts opening his mouth for it but gets really frustrated when he just can't keep it in, I just sit and tap the dummy sometimes it can takes so long before he takes it and then after 20 minutes it's out again haha x

Although my son won't hold a dummy in and then gets annoyed when it falls out 😤😂. It's such a hard job with newborns.

when Lewis was new born I'd put him somewhere safe like his bouncer, crib or playmat and (this part sounds weird but) stick the hoover on and quickly shower etc. I still do it now. he just likes the sound of the hoover😂😂 x

I know @abbylouise Sometimes I have days where the washing & cleaning doesn't get done & I think to hell with it. It'll still be there tomorrow! Lol But the more you get out & about & leave him for a minute here & there he'll get used to it. The first few weeks & months can be massively stressful adjusting. He'll get better & before you know it you'll be cleaning whilst feeding & being on the phone 😂😂

@sara-lou, I do leave him to cry hoping he'll stop but after a minute or so I can just tell he isn't going to and if I leave him any longer he'll take longer to settle down after. It's just really frustrating x

@mimibear, @kelsxox this is exactly how I feel! It really makes me irritable all day not being able to just do one thing without having him cry and get himself worked up x

The only way to do it is to put them down while you get ready @abbylouise The more you try & carry them all day the more clingy they will become. Now before anyways jumps on me I'm not saying to let them scream or cry it out for hours, but babies cry & that's ok. You can let them cry for a few minutes then comfort them when you've finished. I try & save cleaning for when he naps but if I've had to I'll put him in his bouncer in the room with me so he can see me. And if I need a wee... I go for a wee lol. I have an older son who goes to nursery & needs to get out & about, so staying in because Max is clingy isn't an option lol

My daughter was the same :/ I barely ate, showered or went anywhere for the first few weeks of her life... She's just turned 10 weeks and she's only just starting to get easier! She'll lay in her cot and watch her mobile while I get ready or do myself something to eat :) it might be worth getting a sling so he can be on you but you can still get stuff ready :) having a baby is harder than anything you can ever imagine... But it does get easier :) try and enjoy him while he's tiny xxx

I'm in the exact same situation :/ tomorrow I have to take her to be weighed but only have a short time slot to do it in. with a needy baby it's gonna be difficult to even leave the house before 12 :/
