I thought I would be good with size ones for when I brought my son home from the hospital cuz I knew he would be at least 8 lbs, but I actually really preferred the newborn ones which they provide in the hospital because they are smaller and have the little cut out for the umbilical cord! I got a pack of newborns and as soon as they were done (like a couple weeks later) his cord fell off and I started using the size 1's and by then they were perfect!

Yes diapers go by weight size 1 is usually from 8-15 pounds newborn size is smaller @chelsea09.01.17
