not to mention that being born is a very traumatic experience for your baby so when you are in the hospital it's OK for baby to not eat for 24 hours and some will go longer those nurses don't know what they are taking about sometimes! With my last two children I breastfed and I only fed on demand! I promise that baby will let you know when he/she is hungry. You got this momma!

honestly i feel you should never wake a sleeping baby..when he or she is hungry they will let ya know! and if your baby is still producing dirty diapers then i definitely wouldn't worry

My daughter is a week old and she will sometimes sleep long stretches at night too. She's a breastfed baby as well. I kind of freak out a little bit because I worry she's starving. But she's gaining weight so I'm hoping letting her sleep is fine.

i feed on demand. someones always going to feel some type of way. id ignore it. your baby is fine. i only feed my daughter and son when they are awake and hungry. both of my kids are breastfed babies. they did just fine. your doing okay girl its normal.

@vannah, I wouldn't worry about it! you can always ask your pediatrician. mine said last time that around 2 weeks depending on weight gain you can let them wake you up

@vannah, mine too! also is your baby BF or formula fed? I had to get her weight checked after I left the hospital since she's BF. but if he's having 6-8 dirty diapers a day I wouldn't worry about it.

and he has ALOT of dirty diapers...idk if he has gained a lot of weight yet (first appt today) but diapers yes lol @mrsgower

I go by number of dirty diapers and weight gain to make sure she's getting enough

mine slept from 11 to 4

cuz i didnt wake him up to eat after 2-3 hours...i was like i was waiting on him, i didn't think he'd sleep that long @thumbalina001

he did it in the hospital and the nurses had a full blown attitude so i thought i it was bad @thumbalina001

all they do is eat sleep and poop lol its normal
