I know the hospital I went to they stopped providing pacifiers so I had to get my boyfriend to buy and bring him a pacifier to the hospital.

my hospital gave my son one even though they knew I would be nursing, I was pissed. he had problems latching and now I have to use a nipple shield because of it. he breastfeeds well with the nipple shield, but without it he doesn't latch well at all.

If your planning to breastfeed, I'd wait atleast a week before offering one. My little girl latched like a pro at breastfeeding in the hospital, and when I gave her the one the hospital provides, she got very confused and frustrated when I tried nursing her. She's now 2 1/2 weeks old, and doesn't get confused. She will actually refuse the paci and want to eat.

You may want to check with he hospital... When I went to my orientation the hospital said they don't provide pacifiers because they don't think it's beneficial so if you want to use one have to bring it

Some people say it can confuse the baby about latching. I can't remember if I used one in the hospital or not 🤔
