Was checked for dilation at my 38 week appointment today , I'm 4 cm & 70% effaced and am in ALOT of pain. Having crazy back pain off and on and cramping , along with bloody discharge. Not sure if this is due to having my cervix checked - or if this could potentially be the real deal?? Help.

That's how I was with my first as well. But I've tried timing them and they just seem all over the place. They're painful enough that they make me stop what I'm doing but also aren't like death wrenching either so I dunno :( we're supposed to go visit my fiances dad in the hospital and I'm nervous to be far away from home! @mommyofallboys671
i would count the pains because you can have contractions in your back i did with my first my stomach didnt contract much but my back hurt so bad.
Hospitals will usually keep you if your 4 cm and contractions are close enough
