People stare at me too until I start talking Spanish then they get all surprised. Like yes I look white but I am Hispanic and I do still remember a little bit of Spanish from when I went to school in Mexico.

ppl stare at me because I don't look like it. I've had so many incidents due to it and then they hear me speak Spanish and get so awkward lol

People have my mom dirty looks all the time. My grandpa told her the whole family would disown her for being with a black man. Some Mexicans are crazy hahaha. I be like whatever. I am what I am.

kind of opposite for me, I'm Mexican & don't speak it but can understand a little... I know how you feel though, they try speaking to me in Spanish & look at me weird when I don't always understand. My MIL will speak Spanish around me & then realize "oh yeah she don't speak spanish" & repeat herself in English lol I feel awkward lol @mamaash

I'm puerto rican and Ecuadorian abd can't speak or understand spanish . never was taught . people always assume i know it tho 🙁

@babynessa, it does suck tho. people get surprised when i say i am Mexican. @luuuuuucyyy hahah girl i swear that's happened to my boyfriend a bazillion times. i am like the heck... people shouldn't assume so quickly! @firsttimetarrina that's not necessarily true with all Mexicans but some are racist and disown but it sucks that your family said that your mom. hopefully things turned out differently!

It's definitely not true with all Mexicans. Just some. And my family ended up having no choice but to love us 😂 there just started being too many mixed kids.
