So I have a question I normally don't ask for someone else's opinion on how I raise my kids. But here it goes I have 5 kids 12 year old boy, 9 year old girl and a 7 year girl and the other two are under 4 so my question is how old should a kid be to have a cell phone

I didn't get my first one til I was able to afford one lol at 17!
depends if they take the school bus or have to stay for an after-school program. they can always start off with a flip phone.. I'm thinking your oldest would be ok as long as they don't take it out of their backpack..

And the reason I ask is cause I got them a cell phone they have to share and one of those free phones and they can't call out only incoming calls and they can only get calls from 3-7 Monday Tuesday and Thursday and Friday and for Wednesday 2-7

I was in 7th grade. But my five year old have an iPad that she can text(if she knew how to spell more words haha eventually tho) and FaceTime me from. She takes it to school and I have a snap chat (completely blocked from the world except me, her dad and grandma and aunt) for her so I can get in contact w her. Then again she's deaf and can't just talk on the phone... I'm glad too because the old bus driver was being a very rude person to my love and my baby was able to FaceTime me and let me know.

I say 12-13 is a good age. I had one at that age, but it was simply for emergencies. I didn't have the internet and all that cool stuff. plus I was going to and from school alone, and my mom worked all the time so I needed one. with the things going on in the world, its always good to be safe. to call anyone for help of its needed

My first phone was my dads old beat up flip phone, I was in 7th grade then. I only ever used it to keep in contact with him since my parents were divorced.

My my daughter had a phone in the 4th or 5th grade (5th for sure) a government phone. Used to call her dad, grandma, to pick her up or to call me when she got outta school to let me know she was ok. But then she started to think she could be on it whenever she wanted & not do whatever I told her to do so now she's in the 6th & doesn't have one at the moment.

I think 13-15 I didn't get a phone until I was 18 but I paid for it myself.
