I love this app so far and I haven't even been using it for a whole week! I love that whenever I post something, be it a question or concern, I am showered with kindness and results without the fear of being attacked because all I want to talk about it motherhood.
That being said, I have a very serious question, (one I will ask my doctor too) but want to hear maybe some insight or perspectives from others too.
What's the TRUTH about post partum depression?
How did it effect you, or did it at all?

I don't think I had full blown post partum depression. I think with my changing body after body I felt horrible about how I looked. it still affects me some.. feeling like I don't look good enough for my SO, but I know that's definitely not the case. Also when my baby girl won't stop crying and I've done everything I can possibly can to calm her, I get horrible anxiety. it's a struggle some days but soooo worth it in the end.

i had it really bad and i didnt seek help which was my biggest mistake. i cried for atleast 4 hours a day. thinking i wasnt good enough to be a mom, thinking i should just leave this world and my baby would be better off without me. i just wanted to be alone. sadness was all i felt for a good month. it was hard but i pushed through it. my daughter made it possible for me to get through it. i should have talked to someone but i was to stubborn. it doesnt effect everyone this way but this was my expirence with it.

My daughter will be a month old on the 6th. And I suffer from postpartum depression. I had suffered from depression prior to pregnancy and giving birth also. But PPD is the hardest. For me I'm sad all the time. It takes every ounce of my being not to break down and cry all day. I feel like I'm an inadequate mom. The worst of it all though.... As bad as it sounds.... It makes me not want to be around my daughter.... I love her so much but I don't feel I can connect to her at all. I don't feel bonded like moms are suppose to. I feel like she likes everyone else more than myself.... And if hurts so bad. I want to lay in my bed all day and just sleep. Then when things go bad it makes it that much harder. I pump my breasts for breast milk. I wanted to breastfeed. She wouldn't latch correctly. When she latched she was aggressive about it then get angry and de-latch and cry. Makes me feel something is wrong with me. I am getting treatment though so I'm hoping it helps.
