I don't know if it's the same way in other states but here in California it is a requirement now to have a child fully updated on their vaccines to attend public school. If they have been attending school and not fully vaccinated then the parents would be told that they will not be able to be enrolled back into school until they are fully updated on their shots. Some parents are very upset about this and believe that they should let their children be able to go to school unvaccinated. My issue is my daughter will not be able to take peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to school because we have to take in consideration of children who have peanut allergies (mind you this is a big deal because she loves peanut butter and jelly sandwiches) but you expect your unvaccinated child to be allowed into school around younger children who are not fully vaccinated towards some diseases, in the hopes that they won't catch it but there's an off chance that they might not catch anything.

Considering I got pregnant straight out of college, I was certainly on the younger end of the parenting spectrum. (No one was more surprised than me, I assure you.) And yet, I wasn’t exactly a teen mom. I wasn’t juggling school courses and motherhood, like so many s...

TRIGGER WARNING
This is very personal but extremely important. Especially with all this car seat stuff going on.
Last Saturday, yes 3 days before Christmas there was a terrible car accident. A woman crossed into oncoming traffic on a highway and hit another car head on then slammed into the guard wall. Why is this important? Why does it matter? Who was this woman? This woman was the mother of my two nephews. This woman had the most precious cargo in her back seat. She had my nephews who are 6 a...
