I'm not sure there is an easy way.. normally I would say introduce it one feeding at a time. not sure that's possible here. are you on specific medications that don't allow you to nurse or pump?

@wiccanmommy, narcotic pain meds and three different IV antibiotics. Could give him really bad diarrhea, thrush, or trigger an allergic reaction/sensitivity to antibiotics that he might need later in life. Plus it will make my milk taste bitter.

ahh. well if there is no way around it you should at least pump and dump so as to keep your supply up. hope you get better quickly.

I was able to pump one more time before starting the antibiotics so I got another 5 oz pumped.

And they just gave me another dose of pain meds so I should get some sleep cause I can't see straight.

I'm sad I can't have Joshua with me tonight since I'm in the sick floor and he could pick something up.

@wiccanmommy, that's the plan. Lots of liquids to keep my milk thin so I can pump more out and setting alarms every three hours.

hopefully you can get back to your LO soon! and get better quick. I can't imagine having to go without my little girl.

@wiccanmommy, so, after him getting an oz of formula in four oz of breast milk, I was told that the IV antibiotics they put me on were specifically chosen so I could continue to breastfeed (as opposed to one antibiotic that would work but have to pump n dump). So my SIL and Joshua are here with me for tonight and they are gonna see if they can move me up to the OB floor in the morning

@lareina_kk, not available on such short notice. Fortunately, the OB cleared everything up and gave me the ok the nurse while on the medications
