Handed our son over to my husband a little while ago so I could shower. I had been breastfeeding and pumping so I gave my husband formula because Auggy was still hungry. I took a shower and got dressed and came out and my husband was trying to offer Auggy the bottle ( he hadn't eaten any formula) and my husband sees me and puts his hands up as if he was so frustrated...and just hands me the baby...I'm really getting discouraged because I want my husband to learn to keep trying with the baby and learn his little quirks and signals for certain things so I can have a break once in awhile but he is so fucking impatient and gives up so quickly...like, if I can get my baby to take a bottle even though he knows I'm the one with the breast milk...you damn well can too...ugh, so frustrating. Rant over

@kimberkatherine do you ever leave him with the baby and just get a coffee or something? I leave mine sometimes and it kinda helps. I still wish he would learn to feed him my pumped milk. &yeah; he provides but did he not provide a baby as well? 😑 it takes a village.
@kambam it is so frustrating!!! Like, he only wants to hold him and cuddle with him when he is happy or sleepy. And yes, he does sometimes try to soothe him if he is crying and I'm getting stressed...he will try sometimes but if I specifically ask for help or hand him over he can't figure out anything. Dude, you think I didn't have to learn to be patient and figure this out myself?? I just want him to bond more and figure out his son's signals better so that we can be a team and it isn't all on me. 😑 And I know my husband works and provides for us but that isn't an excuse.
ugh my SO is the same way. as soon as he comes home I hand the baby over cuz ive been alone with him 10hrs. he'll hold him 5mins, the baby cries and hes like "he's ready for you now" NO HES NOT hold your damn son lol @kimberkatherine I feel your pain 😩
He takes formula bottles just fine it just takes a minute or two
@babes101116 yeah I know but I can't pump enough to fill him up. He is a very good eater which is great but I don't pump very much so I give him formula and he gets full much easier. I still breastfeed as much as possible because it has so many great nutrients for him and it is good for me as well but I do give him some formula if he really seems to still be hungry but I have like...emptied my milk supply feeding him.
If you're pumping he might take BM better than formula, it has a totally different taste and smell
@shann I breastfeed but I supplement with formula because my son has a very big appetite.He doesn't love formula because of course breast milk is better so it takes a couple of minutes of patience to get him to take the bottle but he does. My husband just doesn't have the patience for it.
@kambam lol, I wish our town had a target but we live in a tiny town with one Smiths grocery @bria ugh so annoying
