13 weeks old today! This says that Genevieve should be sitting up on her own by now but none of my babies sat up until at least their 5th month. Anyone have a baby sit up by themselves by 13 weeks?? That just seems early to me, or maybe my babies are just slow to develop in that area???

Yeah I too saw that. My son is 12 weeks and I looked a week ahead. He can sit up assisted or for like 2 second before toppling over but I was like no way a baby can sit up well at 13 weeks. I always thought of sitter at 5-6 months. This picture was from 1.5 weeks ago.

aww, he is just precious! 😍. Genevieve is the same. I'll sit her up and she falls over after a few seconds. She does try to sit up from a laying position but her muscles aren't strong enough for that yet. @jacesterlingsmommy and Wow! so I guess some babies do sit up that early! how cool. @andrewsmommy

Thanks! Yeah he tries to sit up all the time too lol. He will get his shoulders/head and legs off the ground then give up. He's getting to the point where he wants to sit or stand up. He only wants to be held like a baby while he eats. I was so sad of it lol. Yesterday I was holding him like a baby cuddling him as he was fighting me to get free. lol. He doesn't just lay there and take it anymore. haha. He's getting too big!

At about 4 months she could sit alone without assistance for a pretty long time. but being able to sit up from a laying position I think that's closer to 6 months. my daughter didn't actually do that until right before she turned 6 months. yeah 13 weeks seems quite early to do it alone
