Question. My baby girl is 11 days old
My boyfriend works all day, so he's not home with us... Whenever the baby gets super fussy, it seems most of the time I'm the only one who can soothe her 100%. She's breastfed. So when she gets super upset, feeding her is the only thing that calms her, or she crys badly. I'm really starting to feel bad that she doesn't calm down for him like she does me.. Is it because she's breastfed, or just bonded to me more because I'm with her all day?? I'm pumping, so we are about to start her on bottles with breast milk too so he can feed her. Or is this just a newborn thing?
It just breaks my heart that the only time he can hold her peacefully is when she's asleep. :-/

That's what I've been thinking... I just feel so bad because he wants to hold her, and can't sometimes because she just crys. ☹️ he hasn't said anything to me, but I can just feel it. I'm really hoping when we try to give her bottle with breast milk, she'll start calming down for him too. @babes101116 thank you for responding ❤️

Tell him to try skin to skin, bathing, cuddling, tummy time, anything really. Feeding is not the only way to bond

Definitely normal, it's a mom and breastfeeding thing. Babes suggestions should help

She is probably crying because she is hungry. With newborns, crying is pretty much purely a survival thing. They only know how to cry so if she needs to be fed, changed, or burped she will cry. But they mostly cry out of hunger, or at least my son does. The bottle feeding will help her bond with daddy but he should just keep trying to soothe her. Different methods will work for him that don't work for others

It's normal just keep at it. him feeding her should help because it's a bonding thing.
