Ftm and I know there may be a basic answer to this but yaw help me out 😩. What does your newborns sleep in? I live in Florida (hot weather). I have looked for pajamas but they all begin at 6 months. Also do you all put cover over them at night while they sleep while they are still newborns
no blankets until they can lift there head and hold it up. baby can suffocate themselves. use a swaddle or the pajamas. if u can't find the pjs in the store go to amazon they have alot of them. if it's hot the pjs it's self should be enough cause baby's are warm by nature. but if u have ur AC going like I do I'd put a thin onesie under it. try not to put anything in there bed though just to be safe.
Thank you ladies I think ill try the swaddler see how that works and go from there. All your answers were helpful! @ssdj4 @chinue @1st_time_wonder @kysonsmommy610 @valrocks and anyone else I forgot
ohhh and swaddling he did like it but as he got to about 5 weeks he started disliking it lol so know i have to take it back
I put my son in a footie outfit. So everything is covered but his hands and face. Lol. When he was new newborn I did swaddle him but after 3 weeks he hated it. After the swaddle thing I did put a blanket on him but only to his arm pits and I would tuck it tight. Now that he's in his crib alone I don't put a blanket on him but we also closed the air vents in his room almost all the way.
I would put my baby on his side AT TIMES but he didn't like it. so around 3 weeks I put him on his belly & just observed him. he would pull his head all the way up & turn to the other side if he was uncomfy. His stomach is the only way he'd sleep. & as far as cover I put his receiving blanket on him from his lower back down if it's really cold then his upper. Basically just learn your baby & see how he/she responds. You'll know what's best
@newmommy0906, I keep my answer I would most prefer using a swaddler though. It'll keep the baby warm through the night or if it's too hot get some short sleeve sleepers
you're welcome @newmommy0906 do what is best for your child even if they say not to. you know your kid better than anybody else.
@ssdj4, and thank you by not taking offense to my statement "even though they recommend you don't" after I pressed sent I thought "I hope she understands that I'm asking not forcing an opinion" I had no clue that blankets were a no go so I wanted an opinion of someone who uses them and someone who doesn't 😊
I do. my son also slept on his belly. it's the only way he would sleep. @newmommy0906
@ssdj4, thanks so you do use a blanket over a baby even though others recommend you don't @1st_time_wonder when I say cover I mean blanket does that change or keep your answer
@1st_time_wonder, so you never place w blanket over a baby. I mean like Even when he is one or 2
my son did use a sleep sack for a while before he had to have his legs and arms free. he didn't like swaddled.
If need be get some swaddlers. That'd be best TBH. And you don't use a cover ever with a baby. They can accidentally suffocate themselves.
I also put my son in a onsie. I live in Texas. I always had a light blanket over him.
it's easier to remove layers.. .. you're in fl so I know it's hot!! Lol.. you're welcome..
They have pjs for newborns. And I still swaddle my baby and he is 2 months old so he usually sleeps in a short sleeve onesie. He gets the best sleep while swaddled. Sleeps through the night
@1st_time_wonder, he is sleeping in a pack and play for a while. No cover? How old do you start allowing them to have cover
Never put a cover in a crib with a baby. But I have never seen a sleeper with short sleeves @-@ And no onesie underneath unless it's cold at night.
@chinue, thank you I feel so lost. The closer i get the more I think of the small stuff
I put a regular onesies on and then the sleeper, if it's cold in the house I've thrown a light blanket or sheet.. check the baby, periodically if they are sweating remove the cover..
Should I use long sleeve because we keep our air on? @chinue @1st_time_wonder does he wear a onsie under that? Do I place cover on him also
