well my husband in processing got messed up. Your only suppose to be in processing for a few days but he was stuck there for 2 weeks. So my first letter took a while to get to me. I think I waited a month before I got an address to write back to him. But if everything goes right for your SO it shouldn't be as long. @padilla2018

I understand that, but he has schooling after for his job which is AIT. That is when he may get is phone. I don't know if my husbands AIT let him have his, but the AIT I went too let me and everyone have ours. Now in basic training, I didn't get my phone either. We used phone cards on a pay phone, I think my husband basic was the same. Unless they have awesome drill sgts, who let them use it here and there. I know some people in other companies used theirs, but they just got lucky.

Basic they don't get their phones. But can call home from a pay phone. Other than that its just letters. The waiting for the first letter is the hardest but just stay strong. When he's in AIT depending on what MOS he picked he should have his cell phone and it makes things a lot easier. You can do care packages it's what I did to let my husband know I was still here for him. He really appreciated them.

it's basic, he doesn't get his phone 📱

If it is just basic training and AIT, he should get calls home and all. Depending on the school, he may have his cellphone. So hopefully when basic is over you get to talk to him more.
