Leg cramps every single night now. My calves are in agony when trying to walk they're burning like I've run a marathon. Driving me mad. Fed up of waking up in the night clutching my calf screaming 😩😩😩😖

Speak to your midwife about adding a magnesium and calcium supplement. I'm worried about getting them later on as I used to get them years ago and it was terrible. I feel for you! But I've been reading up and a lot of people are saying after taking the extra supplements they stopped getting them so might be worth a try xx

Oh really @newmommyapril I'll deffo mention it at my next midwife appointment then. It's so painful even afterwards when trying to walk. Once it cramps up it seems to last for ages then when it finally lets go it cramps straight back up again getting more painful each time!

It's horrible isn't it 😔 And without warning!! I've only had it in my foot during pregnancy so far but I remember the leg ones like a bad nightmare. Dreading it! Let me know how you get on with the supplements and if they help at all. I'm sure you already do, but also try to drink loads during the day. I'm not sure how practical it'll be but it might be handy having a heat pad (one of those you peel off and stick on and it warms up quickly) and a cold wet flannel near your bed so when it strikes, stick the pad on for a few minutes then take it off and put the cold flannel on it. Should stimulate the blood to move faster to warm you back up which will release the tension. Probably easier said than done as I know I can hardly talk straight let alone think straight when it happens 😂

@newmommyapril, lmao I will follow your advice and let you know how I get on lol but yeah I probably won't even think to do any of that when it happens I'll just be screaming. God help me in labour 😂😂 xx

I get legs cramps every night too! As soon as you feel it coming on, straighten your leg out and tilt your toes towards your face completely stretching it out and don't stop until it goes away. I do this and it works every time for me and I get no pain when walking afterwards xx @gemmajoanne
Gemma·
@jesst, that's exactly what I've been doing. I can straighten my leg but my toes are stuck completely pointed. I'm gonna make a damn good ballerina at this rate xx

@gemmajoanne, haha! It's annoying isn't it! If you try and point your toes towards your face it stretches out the muscle and really does help! Hopefully 🙈😂 x
