On my check it says CA-disability employee @sarahb518 I just want to ensure that I will be paid while on maternity leave.

Yes you will be paid 😀 Your employer has to pay into the state disability and as an employee, you get a portion deducted from your check that goes towards your disability. When you file for maternity leave, you are basically filing for temporary disability so you can get paid.

It's 4 weeks before you deliver, 6 weeks after you deliver and then an additional 4 weeks of paid family leave @gorgeoushar

@sarahb518, so if I decide not to take the 4 weeks before I deliver; can I use the time after delivery?

No, unfortunately. I specifically asked them that question because that's what I wanted to do. If you don't use the 4 weeks before, you just loose out on that time. @gorgeoushar

Ladies I called my insurance about breast pump and they said with their insurance in order to get a pump I get a prescription from doctor then I call 3 different numbers to see what my insurance covers but the only thing is I have to wait til baby is born to call and get pump so I want to at least buy a hand pump which do you ladies recommend for hand pump and when I can get a pump from insurance please n thank you 💖💖
