what is the difference between a christening and a naming ceremony?? anyone Daughter due in 5 weeks and thinking is getting her christened
@vickir29, you don't have a naming ceremony in a church, my niece for example had hers just at home with family and friends and a bbq...if you want it in a church you'd have to get your baby christened. I'm not sure how it works with other churches but Catholic Church you have to attend for a couple of months before you can get your child baptised (same thing as christening) if you just wanted a naming ceremony you could have it in a local Hall or at home like a little party or something xx
I'm thinking of having a naming ceremony for my daughter because we aren't religious at all xx
Christening is religious. A naming ceremony is not
Baptism/christening
Has anyone not done it yet? And also Melinda still does not have god parents! Haven't decided I am not close enough with anyone to feel comfortable

Has anyone done anything similar or has any ideas as to what I should do?

In the past couple of years, I've somewhat established contact with a few of them including my grandmother and two of his sisters. It's been nice hearing from them throughout my pregnancy, or it was until about two weeks ago when all three began p...
