update/mild ranting:
I got woke up at 3:15 this morning by the nurses to be told that my daughter has jaundice, and she will need to be under the light for probably a day or so. they said there is nothing else wrong with her though, she just won't be able to leave today like we thought.
of course, she's my daughter, I'm going to be a little worried. but it's jaundice. it's pretty common in newborns. I am aware of that, even though I am a first time mom. so I'm not as worried as if they had said it was something else wrong with her.
because she is sick though, I told everyone we don't really want any visitors besides my mom, my husband's mom, and his sister because we are both close to her, and they all know not to stay for a long time. my mom, however, is about to get kicked off this short list of visitors because she is trying to tell me what to do and who can come to the hospital and who can't.
first of all, I already took care of that. I told everyone I don't want any visitors.
Second of all, this is my child, I will handle this however I see fit.
@jessicarose0602, they are taking care of her, they brought her to me once for me to feed her, but other than that she should be under it since they took her this morning. They said it was pretty mild though, she should be going home with us tomorrow.
my son went home with a billy belt because of jaundice I needed to be under that belt almost all day and night
jaundice can get pretty serious if doctors don't do anything about it though. my daughter had it soooo bad a couple days after birth and they wouldn't even put her under the light.. so she literally looked orange. went to her pediatrician and he was upset that the hospital never contacted me with her results to have me bring her back to the hospital. glad the doctors you have seem to be better than mine.
Thank you @megbaby07. I know she is doing it because she is worried, but she has been trying to tell me who can or can't come up and what time they can come ever since the c-section was done Wednesday night
I've never heard of those before
