Ladies, what's your opinion on buying an isofix base second hand on eBay? Mum says it's a bad idea but they're so expensive brand new! 😳
Yeh the one I'm going for does have them. Wasn't sure whether that was reliable to be honest but still! @themessica xx
@jodieiokie, I'm sure a few of them have the light sensors anyways so as long as those work then I'm sure that's a good indicator as to whether or not it's working and secure ☺️
That's what I thought @themessica , I won't be able to return it but it's on a local pick up on eBay so I thought I'd check it out and make sure all is good with it first. Xx
To be honest I would be more concerned about the actual car seat being second hand rather than the base. As long as the seat clips in and is secure then I can't see a problem with it? Best thing to do is make sure you can return and get a refund if it isn't up to standards :)
My ML had bought us a car seat and isofix base second hand too (without asking) and im not keen on using it! The lady she got it from said it hadn't been used and it came in the box and the car seat is in immaculate condition but I'm just not keen on using a second hand car seat just Incase!! The travel system I want comes with a car seat also 😕 Xx
An isofix is a gadget you fit to the seat in your car that the car seat then attaches onto. You don't have to use a belt on the car seat, it just clips onto the base. They're meant to be a lot safer and more secure than using a belt. And takes about 2 seconds to attach rather than fumbling with a belt. They're over £100 new but I've found one on eBay for £20 but mum says I shouldn't use something like that second hand... X
I got my last one second hand just check it over and make sure it works properly
