okay serious question! and don't judge I don't wanna hear all the mean stuff people can say.
so I still occasionally smoke weed since I've been pregnant. not like I use to, I use to smoke every day but now maybe just a couple times a week or less. BUT I was wondering, how many weeks should I stop completely and make sure my husband doesn't smoke around me and such in order for everything to be okay when it comes to birth? cause they drug test at the hospitals where I live & I don't want them to have a reason to try to take my baby and all of that drama. my cousins girl smoked and she went into pre term labor because the umbilical cord got wrapped around her babies neck and they blamed it on the weed and got cps involved and such but the baby wasn't taken because her husband has his card and she said it was just second hand that's why it came up in her drug test. but I don't even want that to happen or to deal with it.
so I'm thinking stop completely and not let my husband smoke around me at all, about a month and a half before? I'm not sure.
so advice & opinions??

Oh yeah! You should be fine. The thing is too sometimes the don't pay attention to weed because it's so petty and they're more worried about the hard drugs that leave babies detoxing after birth.

thank you for saying that because that's what one of my friends did & it was fine. she even took xanex pills to help her anxiety so I think I'll be fine haha @santistevanmommie

that's what another one of my friends did(she just had her baby a week ago) & everything was good! so imma just stop smoking, honestly I'm not worried about it. if I'm gonna be at the same hospital as my friend that smoked on the way to the hospital while she was having contractions, I'm sure I'm fine if I stop 14 weeks prior @santistevanmommie

Also I did stop smoking at 7 months and nothing came up in her system when she was born

My dr told me I had to stop smoking at 7 months pregnant in order for it to be out of baby's system and mine. I smoked my whole first trimester until 20wks for migraines that my dr wanted me to take narcotics every day for

I'm in Arizona and trust me they can take the baby away. my exs sister had her baby taken away for a little bc there was weed in the babies poop. she had to take drug tests and everything. trust me it's not worth it. cps even gets involved if you're on prescription pain medication for severe pain even though there aren't any good studies to say what happens but they get involved even though it's prescribed. what hospital are you delivering at
Savannah Valdez·
В ожидании первенца
shit my friend that delivered at the same hospital smoked while she was in labor to help the pain and everything was fine @katietay34

I've never heard that happening in the state of Arizona & everyone I know smokes and have through their entire pregnancy. the same hospital I'm delivering at my friend did and they didn't say anything to her cps didn't get involved @katietay34

making cannabutter is a pain in the ass lol I know how you feel with that one @mommytoabel

then maybe they won't say anything about me either. my friend who delivered at the same hospital smoked as well and they never said anything to her. maybe they don't always drug test unless they think they need to. I'm just unsure lmao @mommytoabel

They can track it in their poop from 14 weeks and up. So if you smoked from 14 weeks and forward, they will find out and CPS will come after you. I have a friend that went through this. You should've stopped smoking as soon as you found out you were pregnant.

Meconium is the kind of poop that they have the first few days after they are born. It's like that consistency of tar and if someone has done drugs while it was producing it will show up in there.

I would but they will put it in your chart, but also if you are honest that would be better than hiding it and having them find out later, y'know? I was around it my whole pregnancy and I had my card for 3 years before I found out I was pregnant. I harvested and even made cannabutter and my doctor nor the hospital said anything.

what is meconium? never heard of that lol @mommytoabel

You should stop by the time baby starts producing meconium if you want baby to come out clean. I can't remember what that is so I would look it up. Sometimes they test the first bowel movement.

I've probably been dirty all my urine tests honestly lol. maybe it's like that here, maybe that's why my cousin didn't get her baby taken away! do you think I should ask my doctor? @mommytoabel

Мама сына-младенца
@mv92, I live in CA and my doctor didn't say anything to me. I know I came up dirty the first urine test because I had edibles the whole week (everyday) before I found out I was pregnant. Penal code in CA doesn't allow CPS to take your child away for just marijuana there has to be other evidence of an unsuitable living situation (ex: abuse, drugs other than marijuana).

I stopped at 7 months but I wasn't smoking frequently at all maybe 4 times a month. My doctors are very aware that I was smoking and just let me know about the cons but they also said it was my choice esp being that there is NO law on doing so while pregnant because they're some who don't smoke their whole pregnancy and have complications & some smoke the entire pregnancy and baby is perfectly fine. I honestly feel CPS only gets involved if and when the baby has complications and they can prove that it was caused because of the marijuana

okay awesome! yeah I've never ever heard of weed doing anything to a baby. it's ironic cuz my sister smoked with 2 of her kids out of 3 and the one she didn't smoke with is the one that ended up with asthma and breathing problems and has to do breathing treatments and the other ones are perfectly fine. so I think I'll be good, I'll just stop smoking & try not to be around him when he does to help! @averysmom8_3_16

i smoked up until 7 months and maybe once or twice after that and baby was fine. i didn't smoke at all my last month. as long as the area is ventilated hubby should be okay to smoke around you.

just do it now. at the end of the day no one knows what type of effect it could have on your baby. 14 weeks shouldn't seem too long for you..
