So I breastfeed my 5 week old & sometimes I give her my milk in a bottle, I try to just give her 3 oz. because the lactation consultant said I should just be giving her an oz. for every hour she hasn't eaten but she eats every 2 hours so it's already an ounce more but sometimes I feel like she doesn't get full 😏 would it be bad to give her more? Considering she's only 5 weeks? 😬

I feed my daughter until she was full. I never followed the doctors when they said she should only drink x amount. Just because every baby is different so I don't believe they can possible know whats the right amount for my daughter if their not the one whos caring for her.

She told me "when she's on your breasts let her feed however long she wants but only feed her an oz. for every hour she hasn't eaten when giving her from a bottle" I was like wth that doesn't make sense lol

Yeah I would think it would be the same because I know when I breastfeed she drinks more than 3 oz. but that's what she told me ??? When she doesn't get full with the bottle I feed her from my breasts afterwards though but yeah I guess I'll start putting more in her bottle lol @sarahb518 @kasieerin

same.. I feed with a bottle with only breastmilk and I let her eat until she doesn't want it anymore..

I would say feed her til she's full. It's not good to only give your baby x amount of ounces of they are still hungry after. I EBF but I don't make my baby stop. I wait til she unlaches herself. I would say the same rule applies for bottle feeding.
So my baby is 8 weeks old and is thriving with weight gain each doctors visit. So here is my question: around 4-5 hours at night for sleep she wakes up every night and sucks on her thumb. (She finally this week likes it to soothe her during nap times) her eyes are still closed and she moves around and sucks it. I wake her to feed her. My question is should I just let it go? And see if she is just soothing herself to sleep? I don't want her to stave by morning if she sleep a couple of more hours. What would you guys do?
Opinions on hungrier baby milk? My girl is drinking well over 30 oz in 24 hours. I tried her with water inbetween feeds but she just won't settle in till she has milk as she's hungry not thirsty. She's awake like 18 hours a day 😭
I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!
I just absolutely love some women on here! Some woman wants to write on another women's post telling her she shouldn't be having sex at all in the beginning of pregnancy. I didn't know she was her doctor. Then she wants to tell me that the first trimester is only 1-9 weeks pregnant. And she lost her baby at 4 weeks pregnant due to sex. Like sweetie that's your period starting!

I pump 8oz bottles and they're usually gone within 6-8 hours it works perfectly for me!! I can't imagine why it wouldn't work for you!!
