Ok, so I breastfed him and just used some Enfamill Infant Formula (Ready to use) in a bowl of cereal with fruit for him. It really pained me to pour that formula into his cereal and feed it to him knowing I'm not completely sustaining him anymore. It really hurt my heart. I just might cry over this. On the other hand, he is getting what he needs and for that I am happy and grateful. Gonna call WIC and see if I can get in there sooner than next month. Do you ladies know if WIC allows the ready pour formula rather than the powder? I'm honestly scared to use the powder after the recent issues surrounding formula.
Its not just in enfamil formula. Its all formula that can carry the bacteria. They dont have any way to steraluze it enough to kill the bacteria but you can also contaminate it yourself by your house hold items already having that bacteria.
I'm nervous now......I hate the liquid based formula ugh . this is terrible news
@mrsmord, I guess it's from a bacteria known as Chronobactor - it's very scary, there is an actual lot number from the cans if you look them up. I am not sure if it's just the newborn or what, but I am nervous regardless. It was only the powdered formula.
your welcome, ask them when you call about the formula they may be able to tell you if you need a Dr note because this girl went thru hell trying to
@zaysmomma, the liquid SMELLED like an Ensure shake or something. I'm sure it's better than the powder for sure. I know the powder is more convenient because it's very portable but it's just not worth the risk to me.
Ok awesome, Thank you! Im going with the concentrate then for sure. @abeals04
They give you concentrate if you don't want to use powder
I recently stared supplementing too because I still bleed 😭 not even sure how I made it 5 months exclusively but my son only takes the ready to use as well! I've tasted them lol it kinda taste like a shake compared to powder tasting like metal 😷
I use the liquid form of formula. Wic doesn't give you the ready to use stuff though
oi your baby is fussy with the powder they should with a doctors note there was another momma who went thru this
I want to know if anyone added cereal or oatmeal to your baby's bottle. My little man gets lazy sometimes and doesn't want to eat his oatmeal so I give him his formula. He only drinks 6oz but that is not enough and he's hungry but won't drink more than 6oz per feeding so I was wondering if it is okay to put cereal/oatmeal in his bottle. What are your thoughts?
Question .... When using powder formula do you really have to use bottled water to make a bottle?. Was told this by a friend...

Idk if its true or not but I will not b using Johnson n Johnson for my baby! I do know 2 women got cancer from their powder products, so I don't trust it!!!
WIC it's really unnecessary to give us all this rice cereal... Im about to start selling it lol
I hate having to use my WIC stuff I get embarrassed when there is a line behind me but I am so thankful for it. Got all my wic stuff then a few extra groceries, a whole shopping cart full really for $12 after using my wic checks.
I was told only powder
