Question. My 1 month old is CONSTANTLY hungry. When I say hungry he will drink 8 oz of formula at once if I let him. I have been keeping it at 4 oz because everything I have read says feed 2-3 oz until 3 months. As soon as he finishes a 4 oz bottle he cries and cries he gets burped while still crying and after burping still cries until I stick another bottle in his mouth. You can't trick him an give him a paci because once he sucks an knows nothing is coming out he spits it out and cries. He will fall asleep eating an when you take the bottle out while he is sleeping he doesn't cry, then he gets burped while asleep an then he wakes up 30-45 mins later hungry. This is literally around the clock. Another thing is here lately since this whole extreme eating thing had been going on he wakes up if I lay him down then cries until he turns purple, if I hold him he doesn't wake up. Then the feeding cycle of course starts over again. I have switched his formula from gentle lease to gentle lease no GMO because the other one made him stopped up . He went for his 4 week check up and weighed 10 pounds and when he was born he weighed 8.7. They said he was on the right track, asked if he is throwing up/ spitting up which he is not and they told me that him eating as much as he is, is fine unless he starts throwing up. I personally feel like when we go through a large tube of formula a week he is over eating. He is pooping once a day so I know he isn't constipated, he toots ALL DAY LONG literally like an adult would and that is apparently normal I just didn't expect them to be so often an so loud that it sounds like he is pooping. He is already in 3 month old clothes and 23 inches long.
Hopefully it won't be long.....is there a formula that is more filling than another? I don't know much about them....good luck! :) just remember it won't be like that forever.....
The lactation nurse came in a talked to me and asked how much he was eating and I told her 4oz every 45 mins and she asked if he was throwing up and I said no and she said it was fine. @scidg3
my doctor had me add it to mine for acid reflux, helps hold the milk down she said....if you do decide to use rice or oatmeal, choose oatmeal. maybe be is having a huge growth spurt! haha but I had to feed mine every 2 1/2 to 3 hours so I understand the torture! :/ Maybe you can call his doctors office and speak to a nurse, tell them he never seems full, how often you feed him and if they have any tips....maybe they can help you without talking to the doctor...also, make sure your doctor hears you and is actually listening to you, if not...invest in a different pediatrician. @easton.tylers.mommy
@easton.tylers.mommy, every doctor is different , just like every baby is different . My mom started my brother and I on rice in our formula from the time we came home from the hospital. I asked my pediatrician about adding some to my daughters bottle (she's 3 months) and he said he's giving moms with smaller babies the okay for it. If you do try it, try with just a teenie bit so it doesn't shock his tummy, then do more every couple bottles. We had to do it like that or she got a tummy ache.
He did say I could add it if he spit up a lot just so he could have solids on his stomach. Which doesn't make sense to me. I guess because he is a month old and already 10 pounds I guess.... @p0790
I guess every doctors different lol they told me to put some on my daughters bottle cuz she'd spit up a lot
He told me doing that will lead to childhood obesity If I start him on "solids" (adding rice or oatmeal to his bottles) before the age of 6 months. @p0790
Ask your doctor if u could put a couple tablespoons of rice cereal it'll keep him fuller
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
I literally have to only give my dad and his gf enough for 1 bottle when I drop him off there every Tuesday because last week they were about to give him 6oz in an hour like are you crazy they said because he was crying, play with him give him attention and he won't cry pick him up and walk around with him. I told him he gets 3 oz at 7pm they ended up not giving him the 3 oz till 7:30 and we got there at 8:30 to pick him up and was feeding him again I lost my mind it pisses me off bc he has a...
EVERY SINGLE NIGHT HE JUST CRIES AND CRIES AND CRIES ... STOMACH FULL HE CRIES , BURPED HE CRIES , NOT ON MY BOOB HE CRIES 🤦🏽♀️
So my baby eats 4 oz about every two hours but he cries like hes still hungry when the bottle is empty but if I give him more than 4 oz he spits up a lot. I dont want him still hungry after he eats but it seems that it's a waste to give him more if hes going to spit it all up. Any suggestions?
Formula feeding mamas
Ro is 9.5 months and even though he “eats what we eat” now his Ped wants him to still eat 24-30 ounces per day of formula. But he is SO disinterested in his bottles that I am trying to find new ways to get him to get his formula. Right now he eats 6oz per bottle but usually leaves 3-4 ounces in the bottle per time. Even when i sit with him while he eats he will just get mad and push it away. He eats 3 meals a day with snacks in between and i give him formula or water/juice...
