How come theres no group for birth/labour experiences? As a first time mom, I want to know your stories! I want to have a natural birth, at home. Preferably in a birth pool. Tell me about yours!

water birth in hospital For those of you who have had a water birth in a hospital, how was your experience? Was it what you were expecting? If you don't mind could you share your stories? I've been reading a lot about water births and I'd really like to have one, this is my first baby and I'll be 13 weeks on Sunday, I have an appointment with my midwife next Wednesday and plan on asking her if she does water births. Anything you can share about your experience would be wonderful:)

I really want a water birth. I love the water & when ever I have back ache or don't feel well the first thing I do before medicine is head for a bath! Likewise swimming I always find helps aches. The water is so therapeutic! X

I had a water birth, and helped drastically but if you want injections for the pain you have to get out for 2hours I survived on just has and air the water helped me drastically!! Especially with a 9lb chunk. But near the end I was screaming for the injection but as it was my second birth I progressed a lot quicker and was only in the water for two hours before he was here but the mess afterwards was better as it was all in the tub instead of all on the bed xx

@felizas, I really wanted a water birth & got all my hopes up, wrote it in my birth plan & in the end I needed to be induced as I wasn't coming naturally! Go for it it sounds amazing and all the benefits! But make sure you can be flexible and may have to change your plans!xx

I wanted a water birth and planned to have it but by the time I got to triage I was 2 centimetres and got given a sweep while having contractions and immediately went into labour so no time for me to have my planned water birth x
