Anyone have their membranes stripped?! And if so how did it go
My cervix was 80% effaced at that time. I started taking primrose oil orally 2 times a day and vaginally once before bed at 37 weeks. My midwife said it would help thin out my cervix. And it did :)
I was 1cm on Thursday morning at my 39week check up and my doc stripped mine, I went into labor Friday night and had my daughter the next morning.
She stripped them at my 39 week check up. And then I came back 5 days later and she tried again. But being she could only get 1 finger through my cervix, it was pointless. Plus baby was still high up. So I chose to be induced at 40 weeks exactly. My body struggled to dilate... When I went in, I was having contractions 4-5 mins apart, and didn't feel them. So they had to slow my contractions down before giving me the pill that helps dilate you. Well, my contractions picked back up, and wouldn't go away, so the next morning they did the foley balloon. And that dilated me to 4cm. The nurse at the hospital then was very rough in my cervix, which I think helped a lot. She must of stripped my membranes hard, and that following morning my water broke on it own, and then I went from 5cm to 9 1/2 in like 15 minutes. Then next thing I know, it was time to push.. 😬 so that's why I said, it really depends on how dilated you are, and how soft your cervix is
She only tried once? How far along where you when you went into labor and how? @klove2016
