It’s one of the earliest pregnancy symptoms and it affects more than 50% of all pregnant women. 😷
Morning sickness, vomiting or nausea can start around the sixth week of pregnancy, and unfortunately it can strike anytime of day and beyond the first trimester. It’s one of the top issues moms-to-be complain about, so we spoke to moms in the mom.life app about what really worked for them. 💪🏽
Here are 38 mostly natural remedies for morning sickness that may help you too. 💕
1. Lemon Popsicles and those peppermint hard candies work wonders!!
2. I had to eat salt with every meal or it was coming back up. I had morning sickness my whole pregnancy. If I brushed my teeth wrong I was throwing up.
3. 7 months + and still use Diclegis at night. 😏
4. Coconut oil and watermelon.
5. B6 and Unisom.
6. Staying away from warm food and meats, so I only ate salads and fruits. I also drank a lot of 7up. Sprite didn't really work as good as 7up did for me.
7. Saltine crackers☺
8. Oh, and yes, regular coca cola. Not diet. Nothing fully cured my all day sickness, but those things either reduced frequency or vomit volume.
9. Phenergan, Zofran, peppermint oil mixed with coconut oil on the insides of my wrist, feet and temples of my head.
10. Eating regularly.
11. Laying in a dark room while I ate in the morning to give the food a chance to absorb before I was up and moving with an empty stomach.
12. Getting a good night's sleep.
13. Preggie pops are bae. Literally nothing else works for me. My favorite flavor is the Sour Lemon and Raspberry.
14. Lots of water when you feel better, don't try to chug it though.
15. Throwing up was the only way I could get rid of it. So I normally ate cereal or yogurt before I threw up in the mornings, so I wouldn’t be throwing up bile.
16. I lived on popsicles, ginger ale, frozen Gatorade, and club crackers for the first few months. When my appetite could handle it I would have soup, and whenever my body was especially kind I would pack in heavier foods like grilled tuna sandwiches and spaghetti so I didn't lose too much weight. I would sip water throughout the day, too, so I wouldn't get dehydrated. I also switched around my prenatal a couple times to find one that didn't make me nauseous to take on an empty stomach just in case I couldn't handle food so that I still got those nutrients :)
17. Eating a large meal to start my morning cause eating crackers and juice didn't help at all.
18. Mints!
19. I was always sick, morning noon and night. I tried everything everyone suggested to me... crackers before I got up out of bed… ginger ale ... those motion sick bracelets ... I even got so desperate I was trying Hoke remedies I found on the internet. I took nausea medicine but it only barely took the edge off. I was still puking every day. But then I started drinking warm coke... I kid you not it worked like a charm.
20. Ginger ale and crackers. lots and lots of crackers. and Tums for some reason.
21. Dry toast and Apple juice helped me in the mornings!!
22. pretzels and soft mints and Powerade
23. Honest to God truth... pickle juice. I sipped on it when I felt sick and it worked wonders for me.
24. Diclegis, gum, and fruit cups.
25. Seabands!
26. For me only watermelon and grapefruit juice helped me 🍉🍉
27. Getting up slow in the morning out of bed helps and get a glass of water and some crackers :) also Preggie pops help so much too!
28. Herbal mint tea
29. Sour candy, like sour patch kids and sour gummy bears/worms.
30. Jolly Ranchers.
31. Saltine crackers or lemon wedges.
32. Nibbling on pretzels and sipping Gatorade helped a lot!
33. Always have crackers around or bread. Something to put in your stomach so that its not completely empty!
34. Ginger pieces and staying hydrated. I had hyperemesis so I ended up having meds, but ginger and good hydration helped immensely.
35. Apple juice and these mints.
36. Preggie pops! They instantly took away any nausea I was having. And they make drops so I could have them at work. Other than that though I had to constantly be eating. If I didn't snack every 30 minutes I would start to feel nauseous so I would carry M&Ms; in my sweater pocket at work.
37. Ginger candies and Sprite.
38. Gatorade ice cubes.

I got these wrist bands from a drug store called "seabands" , they put pressure on a pressure point on your wrist that helps with nausea...I was skeptical but they really did help a lot!

I would eat lemon heads and sour patch watermelon basically my entire first trimester. And I would drink tons of water and Sierra Mist. What I don't recommend though is putting Cheetos on a turkey sandwich, I threw it up before I was even done lol

The ONLY thing that worked for me with my first child was chewing gum. I started gagging over everything recently and guess what stops it? Chewing gum!

Antacids are a lifesaver. A lot of your upset stomach might be acid/sour stomach. After that, any hard candy you like to eat (doesn't have to be a special kind) will keep the nausea from taking over your life. I ate saltines for a while but then I just started to hate saltines! In hindsight, I realize SLEEP was very important. Even though it might be hard--I became the lightest sleeper for the first time in my life! I used to sleep through anything! In the 3rd trimester now, the nausea and metallic taste come back if I don't get enough sleep and don't keep on top of antacids.
