So found out at appt today that I am 2cm dilated & 70% effaced....then they dropped the bomb that they are inducing me next week because I have chronic hypertension. My blood pressure has been perfect the whole pregnancy but they forgot to mention to me earlier that ppl with "chronic hypertension" get induced around 38 weeks as a precaution
Absolutely! I understand completely! Especially since this will be my last weekend before she's born 😆 yes we should def meet up after, we aren't far apart at all!
I've really enjoyed it so far. Aside from the bp issue (which isn't their fault), the practice I've been to has been wonderful. I've only seen one room in L&D but it was nice enough. It will be interesting delivering there and seeing the differences between America and Australia. I would say we should meet up soon but I only have two more weekends that are packed with plans before I'm scheduled. Maybe after ☺️ I'd love to meet more mums and women in the area.
I've heard good things about Wake Med. my friend from work delivered there.@phinnybinz
Wake med on New Bern ave, that's the one that was recommended. I honestly didn't know much about either (other than I had actually heard of Duke prior to moving).
@phinnybinz, I understand completely. Just saw you are not far away at all. Which hospital are you at? Wake med? I'm at Duke
Yeah, it's crazy. Especially since they've been monitoring it like a hawk. They usually take it at least twice per appointment and have sent me up to L&D to be monitored and I had to do the 24 urine crap. But they've said they won't take her earlier. Not only that they are taking her on my original due date. They changed it around 20 weeks because she was tiny during the anatomy scan. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about having my baby cool as log as possible, I'm also very ready to have this little miracle in my arms.
They told in the beginning that I wouldn't make it to 40 weeks . @angiek
I just found it odd they never mentioned it until a week before! They could have told me this all along.@breezy_ny
Hmm. My blood pressure has been crap this whole pregnancy and they diagnosed me with chronic hypertension and I'm having my c-section at 39 weeks only because I'm getting my tubes tied.
@phinnybinz,
