Anyone who's taken Prozac during pregnancy: were there any side effects from your baby when they were born? I've read some things online (which I shouldn't do) and it's giving me more anxiety which is what my doctor prescribed me Prozac for.
I'm taking zoloft which is supposed to be safer. my midwife told me they were gonna slowly take me off at the end before she's born which I'm not very happy about bc I'm afraid to get depressed again
Prozac is safe after the first trimester and all the heart develops more. I was prescribed a very low dose (the lowest actually) so I'm not worried about what it's going to do to her development. But I found some side effects the baby could have during the first 72 hours when they're born. Nothing life threatening, but still. I also read that if you leave anxiety/depression untreated it can actually cause low birth weight, preterm labor, and anxiety in the child as an infant and when they get older. I was prescribed it for anxiety and am getting even more anxiety when I think about taking it, which isn't good because baby feels everything you do. @korahleah_11
prozac isnt great to take during pregnancy. i was on it for over 5 years and it actually caused me to mc. i never got back on it after that even tho i probably should have but i wasnt gunna take another chance. but i mean if you have to be on something make.sure.your benfits out weigh the risk becauae if they dont. its not worth it.
That's exactly what I'm afraid of. I have a history of depression and I'm terrified of getting ppd, which just makes my anxiety worse. @michelle2220
