Is childcare really worth it if it's gonna be almost my whole paycheck? I keep trying to explain…

I was in the same position, (though the baby isn't born yet) I was plannin for childcare and realized going to work wouldn't really make a difference. It's better to be a stay at home mom anyways because then you get to be there for the babies big moments.(kids tend to be brats when you let someone else be there main influence) I will be a stay at home mom until she is old enough for preschool then I will work in the hours she is at school. Just tell him it makes more sense since you are basically just wasting time working when you could be doing what you're paying other people to do.... Nothing against working moms but what's the point if you're not actually making a profit

No its definitely not worth it in my opinion. That's what we're going through right now, my fiance is supportive if I were to get a job, or stay home. I just applied to a couple so we'll see if I get it!

you could always apply for project child if it came down to you having to work

It's so nice to hear that other go through this.. My fiancé is super supportive through everything but this is one thing that he simply does not understand. He's not telling me no, but it literally doesn't make sense to him 😕 @vb95 @alexdoe

Yeah it's hard, child care is very expensive though. Maybe call around and get some prices so that way he knows just how expensive they actually are. Then break it down as if you made $800 a month and daycare is $650. That would be enough for me to say no to daycare lol. @chesceleste

The only daycare in my county that accepts infants is 145 a week.. And I use to work there as the Pre-k teacher and it's not some place that I trust leaving my child because it's run so awfully.. So I would have to go out of county. So that would be a lot of back and forth. That really doesn't seem worth it at all. @vb95

That's why I stay home & my husband works! He's very supportive though, it was actually his idea! He says it's not worth me going to work a 40 hr/wk job, is both being away from our kids & being pretty much raised by someone else, if all the money I make will just go to daycare anyways!

I'm looking for a work from home part time that I could work evenings. Since putting all 3 of mine in daycare would come to about 2000.00 a month 😐😬😡 smh.

this is exactly why I stay at home with my son and will be staying at home with my newborn until they are both in school for free!
