i really hate it when my mom says she never buys herself anything, she gets her nails done, gets her hair done, she usually has new clothes on when i see her, she always has new sandals etc.

its stupid because i have clothes from when i was 16 that i still wear and i never buy myself new ones because other things are more important, the only reason i have anything new it my mother in law doesn't like seeing me in holey clothes and will get me like 2-3 things every 4 months or so and new shoes because my other ones are falling apart. or i might get a few new things (like a purse for my birthday. my mom always would do things for herself and says she doesnt ever even when i was young and we didn't even have money for food, i would have to babysit and spend everything i make on groceries for my brothers high friends to eat.the last time i bought myself anything (a new crockpot because my old one was wrecked) i made myself sick over the guilt of buying it
