I know it's not recommended to let your baby sleep in your bed with you.. But as a FTM I'm completely scared of SIDS and him possibly suffocating on a blanket he pulled to his face.. Yes my 1 week old is able to get the covers from his body to his face.(his father sleeps the same way). Don't know how.. But how do I get over that.. I am recovering from a c section so getting up quickly is not my strongest move at the moment.. 😩😩😩. I don't like this paranoid worry feeling. I swear if I can't see him sleeping, I'm scared. I even leave a night light so I could make sure I can see his face at night.
@sharondeshonta, it works if not knit one yourself. It's actually very easy I learned off of a YouTube video.
@guaderrama_babies2, my aunt was suppose to knit one for me, she told me to give her till the end of this week if not I'm definitely going to buy one. Because every night I'm taking the covers off his face
@proudmomma2016, girl me too. We have to sleep with the tv on until we get a night light. We constantly loose our phone in the bed so we stopped doing that.. I can't hear everything but I can hear every sound or move he makes.. Everything else around me if I'm sleep I can't hear it.
If he likes covering his face try a knitted blanket. They usually have holes and are very breathable. I've been sleeping with my son since he was a newborn and he is 10 months old now. He will sleep on his own but I like him sleeping with since my boyfriend works 3rd shift.
@sharondeshonta, it's hard to get them to sleep in a crib after sleeping with mommy and daddy for so long. but it's definently worth it
@allyk.xmommy, girl that's how I'm feeling right now. I only get sleep if he is in the bed with me.. Other than that I can't. My sister in law has offered to watch him so I could sleep and I couldn't even sleep then. Not even with his own father. I think I am about to do it for a couple months and when I know he can turn his head when he cant breath. I will put him in the crib. I think for now. I will just keep doing what I'm doing. I appreciate your support as well.
Exactly. Works for everyone in the house :) and you're welcome! @sharondeshonta
when my son was born, I didn't sleep. I could not sleep at all while he slept or was awake. so after about a week of not sleeping I put him in my bed, and he and I slept so amazingly. I did that for the first 3 months
@taraduffy79, thank you for the support 😁😁 glad to know I'm not the only one who does it.
@taraduffy79, i do turn but i wake myself up to do so.. And I use my maternity pillow as a guard for him.. Being that it's both me and my boyfriend and the baby in the middle.. And it does give me a good night sleep because I can just open my eyes for a few seconds. Make sure his face isn't covered and he is breathing and go back to sleep..
In any other country beside the US mom's Co-sleep. It's just natural. As long as you do it safely and know your body (that you don't roll over in your sleep) I say Co sleep on mama if that's what works for you. I've been doing it 5 months straight and it's the best thing I could've done for my Lil man and I. We both get a full nights sleep and so does everyone else in the house @sharondeshonta
@guaderrama_babies2,
