here's what usually happens. you get to the hospital about 3 hours before they actually do the surgery. They monitor you and baby during that 3 hours. They take blood and start your IV. They wheel you to the OR and do your spinal block. You start getting numb all over. I always have a hard time breathing so they give me oxygen. I always talk to the anesthesiologist and my husband for a while until I hear the baby crying. After that every fear just melts away. If you have a C-Section it's only scary for a short few hours. you will be fine though.😀
the actual procedure really didnt bug me..i was in the o.r maybe an hour and my son was born. the harder part is the recovery, its a major surgery so you will have to take it easy as it will be a few weeks till you feel somewhat normal again.
I was scared right before both of mine. I always get nauseated right after the spinal block starts kicking in. I probably will be scared before this C-Section also.
