All I have ever wanted was to be able to breastfeed my baby girl, but she doesn't seem to be able to latch to my nipple, even though she has no tongue tie or issues like that. My milk is slowly starting to come in and I pump as much as I can to up my supply, but I'm still not producing enough for her to get breast milk alone, so we have to supplement. I need help mommies, I'm not ready to give up the latching to the breast but need tips to try?? Worse case any moms pump and bottle feed breast milk have tips?? I want her to have as much breast milk as possible for at least 6 months..

Just always try to latch first! My lo took a month to latch. I was very frustrated with myself and nipples because they were flat. I always tried latching first. A tip I would say is make sure you always have some pumped milk in case the latch is unsuccessful. I never did and she would just cry until I finished pumping or until SO begged to supplement while I pumped.

To up your milk make yourself some cooked oatmeal with cinnamon and sugar fruit if you wish! Three to four times per week! Drinking up to a gallon of water! If you have no allergies to chocolate and almond also helps? Good Luck

did you try a nipple shield to help with the latching? For my son we had to use it a couple times before he would latch on to my breast.

Thanks ladies! We stayed an extra night at the hospital for the lactation consultants @wiccanmommy but it looks like we may be going by the center Monday sometime. And I will try that @mami2d .. I have looked into nipple shields and my fiancé went to go buy me some but CVS was out and he didn't have time to run to the other side of town to Walmart @rfsteele . @imhermomduh that's my problem, I can't pump enough to get ahead to have some ready.. I pump about an ounce at a time and she eats it either before or after the boob to fill up. So if the latch is unsuccessful she ends up wth formula too

Nipple shields saved me! We do great without one now

@jwalkn4, dont give up it took 2 1/2 months of trying to get him to latch like once a day and pumping and bottle feeding and some formula once in a while since he was eating 5oz at only 5 days. and now hes almost 7 months and nurses like a champ.
