Hey mommies! I was wondering if any of you had made the choice to make your own baby food? I've been doing lots of research on the benefits and would love some perspective on it:) Thank you!
i use all fresh and organic! if i can't find it fresh, i find it canned, organic w/o salt or additives. just water.
@autumnrae, @tiffanigypsy8 do you use frozen or fresh fruits and vegetables? or do you know if it is ok to use both if some aren't available where you live?
no I didn't!!! but I did steam everything really well first so that helped slot!
ok, thank you @autumnrae I think im going to do a lot of it at a time and I will definitely check out the pouches you recommended! Did you have any problems with certain foods with your blender?
I made all of my own!!! I work 50+ hours a week and sometimes it was tim consuming but for the health benefits it's worth it! I got a 3 tier steamer used for cheap and a normal size blender! I would make about a month's worth at a time and freeze it and it would take a few hours! It was awesome because I started with single ingredients then found what caused constipation or the runs for her and then I would combine those foods from there so she was always normal!! as she got older I would add cranberry or apple juice as well for flavor and texture!!! it's a little more expensive but I used the infantino disposable pouches when I froze it so we could just grab one and defrost it!
ok, yes I breastfeed..that's what they told me to do when I introduce cereal to her too. Thank you so much!
yes, not sure if you breastfeed but i always add a little breastmilk instead of water in the blender instead of water. just so it's a familiar taste to the baby
Yeah thats what I've been doing lol. I have a regular blender that purees do you that would work ok?@tiffanigypsy8
try looking up different recipes/methods/info on pintrest! that's where i learned all about it
Oh ok, i wasn't sure if I could freeze it that definitely would help! Thank you so much@tiffanigypsy8
i have a normal magic bullet, i basically just make enough to last for a day or two then make more. but i'm a stay at home mom so i have a lot of time on my hands. you could always make a good amount and freeze small servings so you can heat them up for baby later on. some people do a whole month of food at a time!
Did you use the baby bullet? Was it a lot of work lol im a single mom and ill be working full time. @tiffanigypsy8
I used fresh all the time other than peas! I used frozen peas!!
