@babyejf, just try and latch without it first. Then halfway through, take it off and try again. Your nipple should stick out more from forming to the shield.

This is my little man milk drunk at 10 days old. He is 3 weeks as of yesterday and going strong. I almost gave up due to latching issues n very sore nipples but after fighting thur the pain for two weeks my nipples have adjusted and they don't bother me anymore! I wasn't successful with my last two babies but I just wouldn't give up this time and I'm so glad I didn't!

We had it rough for the first month but things are going great now. 4 months and hoping to hit a year. 💜

@marzuniversal, My little boy will be a week old tomorrow.Same issues as yours. He had 1 full feeding without the shield today but the next one he just got frustrated until I put the shield back on. How did you wean him off??

Latched on his own at the hospital two hours after birth for he fell asleep before he could be fed formula. He came via C-section three weeks ago, my sweet little man EJ, my first child. #EJ2016 #breastfeeding

And here we are at 10 weeks! Exclusively breastfeeding for a goal of six months. Then hoping to continue nursing until one and a half or two years old if I am able to. There have been times where it was tempting to just get up and open the thing of formula that we have, but after being able to get comfortable in the side-laying position, it has been so much easier.

This was when we were still in the hospital. He wouldn't latch without a nipple shield. I was able to wean him off if it after s week or so. Now, he is 10 weeks old and I love the bond of breastfeeding.

My baby is a month old, and although I am not able to ebf, I still am able to give her about half breast milk, and that is huge for me. I have never produced enough for any of my kids, and to still have any of a supply at all after a month is something I have never had before. I was never able to produce after the first week or two with my son's. My daughter is fed and that's what's important

After a failed attempt with my first born 6 years ago and lots of research this time around I find myself more laid back and easier to breastfeed. I don't regret not breast feeding long with my first but as a new parent you get caught up in the emotions of everything. I hope our journey is long lasting and we are 2 weeks in as of today with no pumping or substituting!

from 20 minutes old to almost 3 months old. my growing boy and I have a bond I could never even begin to describe thanks to breastfeeding. 💙

We only got do it for a couple of days but back on my antibiotics so I have no choice but to stop & he was doing awesome. But I'm glad we tired and I hope I get a second chance.

I did not breastfeed for so long because I cannot commit to it but I believe I did the best I could to nurse my baby girl :)

2 months.. planning on a year although I only planned a year with my 2 year old and nursed her for 23 months..

almost 7 months old. it took almost 2 1/2 months to get him to latch but we finally got it down and about 5 months at the breast wouldn't change it for anything in the world.

Three days old were still working it out!😍
