Anyone have any ideas on how we could get out of our lease early without paying a ridiculous amount…

Nope usually have to pay first and last month rent. Or the landlord doesn't live up to their end of the lease agreement but chances of that happening is slim.

I've never had to pay we just lost our deposit.

I had to find someone to start renting the apartment and when they started paying, I stopped. Otherwise I would have been responsible for the entire lease.

I read in our lease that we would basically have to pay until our lease is up, or we could find someone else to rent it. There was so much stuff wrong with this house when we moved in that I didn't document (I know I should've) I'm worried that if we move out early they're going to be super picky and find every little thing wrong. It is anything you can take them to court for since it's undocumented problems? That's not your fault that's reasonable for wanting to leave not just because.

No its all minor things, stains from previous tenants, chipped tile. All minor but this house was filthy when we moved in, even though they said a cleaning company came in. We had a problem with bugs when we moved in, it was disgusting. In the lease it said that the management company will pay for 1 treatment. Well that pest control guy didn't know what he was doing and we still had problems after the treatment. So I found another company, it took about a month but the treatments finally started working. I called them to get reimbursed since these bugs were here before we moved in and they refunded us like $80, we paid over $400 in treatments and we get treated every month just to keep things maintained. We were so fed up we considered moving, they were going to charge us around $1,600. @jacesterlingsmommy

We came to an agreement with our old landlord and signed a promissory note so we wouldn't have an eviction. With the promissory with agreed to pay $50.00 a month till the amount we owed him was paid off.

I hate how many hoops they make you jump through to get everything settled. It's always a pain.

I know. I'm starting to think it'll be better to just wait out the 6 months, save up more money, and then buy our house. @ginabee93

It's gotta be what's less stressful for you. I hated going through that process. I guess if you wait you won't have to deal with them anymore.
