Very important @growingmisscharlie, when my husband went in for his flu shot they gave him a whole "daddy list" of boosters he should get. This is especially important for people who will be around/hold the baby during those first few weeks, before baby's immune system comes on line.
how important is it for people that will be around the baby to get it? my husband isn't convinced
Also, getting the Tdap in your third trimester protects your baby against whooping cough until they get their own shots. In babies whopping cough does NOT cause a cough, so most parents do not recognize it until it is too late. Tdap could save your babies life. @ash1614 @growingmisscharlie @octobermama96
Vaccines are so important. Some of the diseases they can prevent can be fatal, especially to infants, and side effects are rare. The viruses are also more prevalent now due to so many choosing not to vaccinate. Yes, it is possible that you may be allergic to an ingredient, but reactions are rare and can be treated. The article that started the whole anti-vaccine thing was debunked 16 YEARS AGO! And the guy who published it has since admitted to falsifying his evidence. Please, for the health and safety of your children and yourself, get vaccinated. P.S. I'm not just an ass with strong opinions, I'm a registered nurse.
@lilmommy93, yeah i like to hear both sides.. my sister was injured by vaccines... she stopped talking and didn't talk until 6 years old.. then i see how some never had issues. i have a almost 2 year old and due any day with# 2...
I don't think that they are necessary. I've never had a shot before, never even been to the Dr and I made it just fine. there are so many different views and opinions on this topic that it's fun to see how other people feel about it. I always worry about discussing it though because some people are so ready to attack if you don't see eye to eye with them.
My vision is worse in that eye and while I was little it was lazy.. And I have a glaze over that eye sometimes...
My eyeball had swollen up so big it almost popped out of the socket due to the MMR shot
Yeah it's very scary. I've heard good and bad things about vaccines. I've personally never had a bad reaction to any vaccine nor do I know anyone that has. So I'm leaning towards vaccinating
I would honestly say yes to all or the ones that are major. The one that saved me was the meningitis & pneumonia shot. I've had meningitis twice and since my body recognized the virus it automatically started fighting it off once I got on an iv with antibiotics. I've had lots of health issues and just want to have my son get them in case something happens to him like it did to me.
@growingmisscharlie, i feel like there's not enough tdap testing on pregnant women... so it makes it very scary!!
From experience I had bad allergic reaction to the measles shot.. I almost went blind. And also my cousin was born a normal child no Down syndrome or autism till he got his MMR shot.. I am pro vaccine on some things but not on others I will give my child the whooping cough and phemonia and flu but other than that I don't think so!
im so glad you asked this question. I was told today that at my next appointment they were gonna offer me the tdap, and I was wondering people's thoughts on it.
thank you @amorrione I have to convince him into getting it
