Everyone getting their cervix checked and I'm just here like "I haven't got mine checked since 22 weeks and I'm not checking it again until I'm 40 weeks and in active labor. Ain't about to be unnecessarily putting your fingers in my vag." Amen. God is good.
@nelly1991, They brought it up once and I said no and that was that
@b3autymarkk23, If your having a normal, healthy pregnancy it's not necessary. A lot of OBs over do it and end up putting women into early labor or sweeping their membranes.
that's it they thought i wasn't in labor because I was literally laughing through my contractions because my bf and a friend was in the room with me, I thought they were gonna send me back home and I knew them contractions were 5-7min though they wasn't that strong till I hit 6cm I knew I was in labor
Yeah, I agree with you. I don't want them up there monkeying around and cause problems. I want my child to come when HE is ready too.
@missjess, Same here. My OB with my other kids, I swear was up there EVERY visit. This time I got a midwife and feel so much better
My midwife doesn't do pelvic exams when pregnant unless she absolutely has too. Even at the walk in clinic here they don't either. The NP said she didn't want to disturb anything. She let me swab down there myself to check for a infection I thought I might of had. My other OB was always up in there for everything. So I'm glad up here they are different.
@madisynmommie, I just feel like I don't want their kinda help lol. With my daughter I wasn't induced until 43 weeks. I'm cool just hanging out until whenever she's ready.
@tenecia, No see that's too much. Even in labor I don't plan to be checked like that. When I feel like pushing that's she's coming. They're gunna be mad or upset? But they're gunna put some RESPECK on my cervix and wait until I'm ready
Yes it hurts smh I honestly think my doctor helped me loose my mucus plug and start to get contractions because before I wasn't having no pains at all but now I get pains
when I was in labor the Dr that checked me I swear he helped me dilate 😢😢 can you say painful, when he took his finger out I still felt like he didn't for like a minute, he told me I was 2cm and the other Dr told me I was 4cm 10min later, then he came back and check me 2hr later and told me I was still 4cm then the another Dr checked me 10min later and told me I was at 6cm 😲😲 i was like he not checking me anymore, thank God his shift ended around that same time his finger are too freaking big for cervix check..
@mommy2dreux, Same here. I had mine checked once in the ER when I thought I was leaking fluid and that was enough
Exactly how I feel when I was in L&D and had to get checked. I was paranoid thinking they could be messing around and cause something to happen when doing that.
@ceeasquared I only got mine checked when I was bleeding prematurely and I went to the ER... NOT TRYING TO DO IT AGAIN even if I'm in labor I'm gonna be like "nah bro I'm good" It was quite violating
Same here !! I've gotten my cervix check too many times this pregnancy already they just recently stop checking I'll wait to active labor to get it checked again
@mommy2dreux, and also not really necessary unless your high risk.
i didnt get mine checked until the day before my due date and then only once while in labor
Trigger. Lost baby
Went in for my 20 week check up and found out our son had passed away. Nothing was wrong, my pregnancy has been going great. I'm so numb right now. I'll he delivering him later this week. I don't want to do this. I don't want to do this. Not before Christmas. How am I'm going to tell my kids?? My dear sweet baby boy. Why did this happen?
What all happens at the 36 week check up?
Well called my doctor about some pressure and other things and they're having me come in to get checked for dilation which they normally don't check for until 38 weeks and I'm only 36! 😰I'm a bit nervous!
I'm 3cm dilated 😱 my doctor said she can be here in a week or less wow i'm so excited!!!! The whole checking your cervix part not so much lol it hurts so bad!!!
I'm very pissed off that my doctor still hasn't checked if I'm dilating or effacing at all .. I'm 38 weeks and 5 days shouldn't he have checked ...
Lol I don't blame you
