Roughly how long do newborns sleep?? Should you wake em up after a certain time??

I wake mine up every 2.5 to 3 hours to feed them newborns sleep a lot it's normal I wish mine would sleep at night though lol

I was told to wake every 3 hours to eat until they go back to her birth weight. Then I wake her every 3 hours to eat until 9-10 at night and then let her sleep as long as she can. Some nights she can stay asleep until 4:30.

That is what my doctor said. She was on a 3 hour schedule. Eat change hour late sleep. I wake her and start over again. She is still on the same morning cycle but at night after 9-10 I let her go longer. But she is 2 months. We started the night routine at a month.

well this is what I was told. your newborn will wake up themselves when they are hungry. I was told to let them sleep when they want do not adjust their sleep according to you you adjust your sleep according to them. they will eventually get to normal sleep patterns but for brain development sake I left my son asleep and he would wake up for food on his own
