I'm finally here at my appointment about to get my IUD. I had to reschedule last time but I'm a nervous wreck. Ladies who have it did it hurt while getting it done?
They checked it which it was negative but the way these Dr's operate here is stupid.
They couldn't just give you a pregnancy test? I had to give one regardless. My OB did recommend that it's best to get it at the end of your period so your cycles don't get messed up. I got mine a week after my period was done. So I'm curious if I'll get a period here in about a week. When I had my last Mirena I didn't have a period the whole time, it was nice. lol
@jacesterlingsmommy, I slipped up last month and my Dr wanna be sure that I'm not pregnant which I know I'm not. So she wants me to come back when I start my period
Thank you! @mrsmord @jacesterlingsmommy @nightdaughter @towens921 @withlovechris
I have only had the Mirena. There are ones with different hormones or none at all. So I can't say much about anything else just what's worked for me :) @lkmama
sorry for piggybacking off of your question, but which IUD do you all recommend getting? @camjay0816 @jacesterlingsmommy @jjsmommyjj711 @mrsmord @mskiera15 @nightdaughter @towens921 @withlovechris
mine didn't hurt but people told me it hurt them. I suggest listening to music to distract you
I got mine at 6 weeks PP. It's my second one and my first one hurt. This one I didn't even feel at all. She said it helps just having a baby because your cervix may still be opened a little. I also took an 800mg ibuprofen before and I didn't with my first one so I believe that had something to do with it also. I didn't even crampy this time. I wasn't on my period either at the time. I had spotting ever so slightly also.
See I wanted to get mine right after I had my son but my Dr didn't think it was a good idea. I heard so many girls got there's put in right after they had their child.
I got it when i was 4 weeks PP It's like a period the rest of the day , some cramping , bleeding it didn't really hurt when I got it put in. I love it .
It was way better when I got it right after the baby. I tried to get it 5 years later and they couldn't get it in.
It hurt a little I had some light cramps afterwards and I little bit of blood but get it done while on your period it's much easier to get in.
@towens921, thanks for some comfort and yea I'm gonna take a Ibuprofen 800 before I get mine as well
It just felt a little crampy while getting it placed inside and after but nothing bad at all
I was ready to get it over with too.
