I really need some advice!!! My close friends have a 11 month old. The parents are 20 and 21. Neither of them have jobs, they live in a 2 bedroom on the third floor across the street from 3 bars where lots of drug dealers, hookers and shootings are. They have 3 dogs that havnt been to a vet in a very long time and pee and poop all over the house (they never get taken outside). The pee and poop will sit there for days, sometimes weeks. The baby doesnt get fed baby food unless my fiance and i buy it for him and feed it to him. He gets soda in a bottle instead of formula. He doesnt have clothes that fit. They havnt had heat in 3 months which means no baths for the baby unless he comes to my house. They also have no electricity. Ive had to buy him diapers for a while now because they cant afford them. I wanna call dcf and get custody of the baby but idk if that makes me a bad friend. Hes lived like this for 11 months. Please help!!!

speaking from experience my friend always went out and went to all parties and clubs almost every day one day I told her that she needed to be there for her baby because I was buying everything and taking care of her. she gave the baby to me and said "take her I can't take care of her anyway" so I called the police on her and then I adopted her. I would call because she is not being taken care of

why not just talk to your friend and tell her you are willing to take him until they can get a steady income I say this because unless you are family they usually stick them in foster care unless the parents agree but honestly as a friend is go to them first if they refuse then call and find out how you can get him

Weve told them so many times they need to get their shit together and they dont listen. And they come up with every excuse in the book. Its sickening and i truly dont think theyd ever let us have custody @brie15

i mean if you have proof that you supply everything financially and its obvious that theyre unfit andbthey dont try to fix it AFTER telling them, id call. @kelsielynn19

@kelsielynn19, so if you honestly believe it's not good for him then Make the next step to make sure he's going to be alright . It sounds like a bad situation for him :(

@kelsielynn19, Your friend will be upset at first but if she is your friend then she will realize that you did what is best for her Child and she might even get it together .

@kelsielynn19, hoenstly i would call !! best friend or not that baby is in a bad situation and could die from health hazzards. this story is so so sad ! 🙁 thinking of you

You can always call anonymous. I went thru the same thing and instead of calling I went and picked up my friends daughter and as she was begging for her back I told her she had two choices. Call the police and get DCF involved and big chance baby go to a random foster home. Or 2 let me keep her until you get a job and a better apartment. Let's just say I kept her for months close to a year while she fixed her life & now she does everything for her little girl. Sometimes ppl need a push and DCF isn't always the right fix but if not willing to corporate go the route of DCF don't get charged for kidnapping cause then you won't get the baby LOL tough situation..prayers for the baby 😞
