Looking to buy a TENS machine for labour and not sure what to go for. Anyone got any recommendations? Like the look of the Boots TENS Maternity Unit or the Babycare Elle TENS so any reviews would be really helpful 😊

Thanks everyone for the advice! Think I'll keep my eye out for any offers in the next couple of weeks or try to find some online discount vouchers and buy soonish so I can start using when I need it @daniluvsdis @duchess92 @sara-lou @titch.82

We wasn't prepared 1st time & hired it when everything started (I had contractions for 5days before going in hospital as waters wouldn't break) & it really helped. In fact I used it until I was 10cm & contractions was getting so intense I needed gas & air. This time we bought one nice & early. Definitely worth the purchase @cupcake107 😊

@cupcake107, yes! It really helped be for a while! And even when it stopped helping as much because the pain was so bad it helped me to concentrate on putting it on full blast rather than the pain!xx

Thanks @sara-lou, that's my worry with hiring. I worry that with all the stress of a newborn the last thing I would want is to worry about sending it back on time too. I've still got a few weeks so I'll keep my eye out for deals but there seems to be quite a few for around £40-50

Also it was a bit of a faff sending it all back. They said they never received it & wanted to bill us! Had to jump through hoops to tell them we did send it back lol

I think it's about £60 to buy. You get free return packaging to post it back. Quite a saving and yeah it seems a really price to hire. Simple to sort out too.x

@titch.82, that's good. I just worry about having the pressure of sending it back after so I'd rather pay a bit more to keep it - lazy I know 😁☺️. The Elle one does have lots of good review though

I did think about that @duchess92 but in most places it's only £10-15 more to buy it. I hoping this won't be my only one so would use for a second baby and have been told it's good to use after giving birth too. Sounds lazy but in my mind the last thing I want to worry about it sending it back once baby arrives

I've just hired the Elle machine from mothercare. Had really good reviews and was only £27. You get it for 5 weeks with an option of an extra week incase baby is really late.x
