It’s totally normal and definitely sounds like your mucus plug. I wouldn’t bother your doctor over that.

Your body is getting ready to ovulate the slimyness helps his " boys" get up there easier along with thickness and or " extra" discharge so I'd say you're at the begging of ovulation keep a watch on it he thicker and more you got the bigger your chances of pregnancy is good luck
